luqaimat ( arabian dumplings)
INGREDIENTS
For the batter
- All Purpose Flour - 2 cups
- Warm milk - 1 1/2-2 cups
- curd / yogurt - 2 tbsp
- Instant dry yeast - 2 tsp
- Corn Flour - 2 tbsp
- Salt - 1/2 tsp
- Oil
For syrup:
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Water - 1/2 cup
DIRECTION
Syrup :
- Boil water and sugar over low flame until 1 thread consistency.
- Let it cool
For batter :
- Mix the flour, corn flour and salt in a bawl.
- Add the yogurt and yeast. Mix well.
- Now make a thick batter adding the milk.
- The batter will be thicker than pancake mixture.
- Now let it rest for 30-45 mints.
- Heat oil in a pan or a thava.
- Drop small amount of the batter to the oil using a spoon.
- Fry them until golden and place them on a paper towel.
- Allow it to cool slightly.
- Now pour the syrup over the fried dumplings.
- Serve warm.
