luqaimat ( arabian dumplings)



INGREDIENTS

For the batter
  1. All Purpose Flour       - 2 cups
  2. Warm milk                 - 1 1/2-2 cups
  3. curd / yogurt               - 2 tbsp
  4. Instant dry yeast         - 2 tsp
  5. Corn Flour                  - 2 tbsp
  6. Salt                             - 1/2 tsp
  7. Oil


For syrup:
  1. Sugar                           - 1 cup
  2. Water                           - 1/2 cup




DIRECTION

Syrup :
  • Boil water and sugar over low flame until 1 thread consistency.
  • Let it cool

For batter :
  • Mix the flour, corn flour and salt in a bawl.
  • Add the yogurt and yeast. Mix well.
  • Now make a thick batter adding the milk.
  • The batter will be thicker than pancake mixture.
  • Now let it rest for 30-45 mints.
  • Heat oil in a pan or a thava.
  • Drop small amount of the batter to the oil using a spoon.
  • Fry them until golden and place them on a paper towel.
  • Allow it to cool slightly.
  • Now pour the syrup over the fried dumplings.
  • Serve warm.
