How to make thakkadi

Ingredients    

ingredients for the curry quantity
beef  500 g
large onions  2
green chillies  3
tomato  1
Garlic (full clove)   1
ginger
Cinnamon stick.  1
Cardamom. 3
cloves  2
red Chilly powder    4-5 teaspoon
Coriander powder 3-4 teaspoon
Turmeric powder  1/4 teaspoon
Pepper powder  1/2 teaspoon
cumin powder.   1 teaspoon
Salt   to taste
Mustered seeds.  1/2 teaspoon
Fenugreek seeds.    1/2 teaspoon
curry leaves
coriander leaves

Dough (dumpling)

  1. 750 g all purpose flour or wheat flour 
  2. shredded  coconut
  3. Salt.                                       
  • SPICES CAN BE ADDED TO YOUR TASTE.

Direction

  • crush ginger,garlic,cardamom,cloves 
  • Take a deep pan or pot and add oil & heat it.
  • Add musters seeds to the heated oil and let them splutter.
  • Now add onion, green chilly, tomato & the ginger garlic mixture. 
  • Add salt and stir. 
  • Cook for few mints until the tomatoes and onion are cooked.
  • add other spices  (without cumin powder) and stir.cook for about 2 minutes.
  • Add the beef and Stir well and leave it to cook. 
  • Don't add water. (you will see the juices exuding from meat during cooking )
  • When that juices are dissolved add 4 cups  of water .. 
  • Check the salt of the gravy and bring it to boil. 
  • Take a large bawl and add shredded coconut , flour and salt. Mix it well. 
  • Now make a rotti dough adding some boiled gravy of the beef curry. 
  • Once you done, make small balls or any kind of shapes you like .
  • when the beef has become tender,put the dumplings into the curry and stir. 
  • Leave them to cook for about 30 minutes or until the balls and the beef are cooked.
  • Add 2 or 3 table spoons of coconut milk(optional)and cumin powder and  Stir. cook  for another 2 minutes.
  • Turn of the fire . The gravy of thakkadi will be thick and tasty. let it cool for about 10 minutes and serve.
