how to make Sweet appam / adai
Ingredients :
- rice flour - 1cup.
- All purpose flour - 1cup. ( or you can use 2 cups all purpose flour without rice flour)
- Sugar - 1 cup (or to your taste)
- Coconut milk - 1 -2 cups
- 1 egg.
- baking soda - 1 1/2 teaspoon.
- Pinch of salt ( very little ).
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon.
- Cardamom - 5
Direction
1st you have to roast the cardamom and cumin seeds .
- Take a pot and add both ingredients and turn on the stove...
- Keep stirring and roast it in lower flame.
- Observe the change of color in the seeds.
- Roast until the cumin seeds had dark brown color.
- Turn off the stove . It's too hot, so let it for few minutes and grind them using a blender .
- Now add your all ingredients to the blender cup and make a thick batter.
- Drain the mixture to a bawl through a fine sieve .
- Now keep the mixture aside for about 8 hr or overnight.
- The mixture is done.. Now take your idly pot and apply some oil on the idly tray. Drop some appam mixture to the tray and cook (covered) for about 4-5 minutes.
- or take a pot and grease some oil.drop some appam batter to the pot and cook covered in lower flam.
try this two methods.you will get different shaped appams in different tastes.
how ever You will get a fluffy and super tasty sweet appam.
